Samsung Rips Off Customers who fix their own machines

Some years ago I purchased a Samsung front load washer. It has been a great machine. This week the drain pump went out. I'm pretty handy with tools so I searched for a service manual on their site: samsung.com. Only "users" manuals were found. To find a service manual took chatting with their online support which took me to this page:

http://www.samsungparts.com/Products/Parts_and_Accessories/PID-SM-WF218ANW.aspx

They have an electronic copy. Great. Everyone does these days. That's what I need. How do I get it? At time of writing they'll ship it to you on a USB drive for $12, a CD for $15, or on paper for $45. And you have to pay for shipping.

Haven't they heard of the internet and download links? Oh, yeah, they have. I'm on their internet page. They want to rip off their customers who want to fix their own machines and not pay for a service repair.

My suggestion? Choose a different manaufacturer. One that doesn't try to swindle their own customers.
